1. If only Ard ent Spirits and containers be seized
the Magistrat e shall fix a time not less than 10
nor more than 30 days from the date of return
for the hearing of said return. If no claimant appear, the Ardent Spirits' and articles are to be forfeit ed to Commonw ealth. Any person claiming
any of same must file a written claim stating particularly the character and extent of his interest
therein, whereupo n the Magistrat e shall certify the
warrant, written claim and articles claimed, to the
Circuit or Corporati on Court, as the case may be,
for determina tion, and declare the unclaimed articles forfeit ed.
2. If still, still cap , worm, tub s, hea ter, fermenter s,
' or any appliance connected with a still and u sed,
or mash or other substance capable of being used,
in the manufactu re of Ardent Spirits, be seized,
the mash (after taking sample) shall be destroyed ,
and the facts and articles seized reported to the
prohibitio n Commissi oner and Commonw ealth's
Attorney. (A copy of this warrant and proper return will be a sufficient notice and report.) Ardent

The first series of the Prohibition Records collection consists of all criminal case records associated with cases brought to the <strong>Rockingham County Circuit Court</strong> from 1916-1964. Not every individual was indicted for a criminal offense and many were simply judged as misdemeanors. the Magistrate shall fix a time not less than 10
nor more than 30 days from the date of return
for the hearing of said re turn. If no claimant appea r, the Ardent Spirits and articles are to be fo r feited to Commonwealth. Any person claiming
any of same must file a written claim stating particularly the character and extent of his interest
therein, whereupon the Magistrate shall certify th e
warrant, written claim and articles claimed, to the
Circuit or Co rpora tion Court, as the case may be,for determination, a nd declare the unclaimed articl es forfe ited.

The first series of the Prohibition Records collection consists of all criminal case records associated with cases brought to the <strong>Rockingham County Circuit Court</strong> from 1916-1964. Not every individual was indicted for a criminal offense and many were simply judged as misdemeanors.
