upo n the i r oaths do pr e sent that James L. Ray, who was heretofore
on the 4th day of Ja nuar y, 1923 , con vict ed of violating the Prohibition laws of the Commonwealth of Virg i n ia, in the Circuit
Court of Rockingham Coun ty, Virgi nia , and who then ard there was
sentenced to pay a f in e of three hundred dollars and to serv e for
a period of two months in jail, did, with in one ye ar next prior
to t he fin din g o f t his indictment, i n t h e said county of Rockingham, unl a wfully and felo ni ous ly manufacture , s el l , offer, k e ep,
store and expose f or sa le, give away, dis pense, transp ort , sol icit ,
advertise and receive orders for ardent spirits, against the
peace and d i gnity of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
The j urors af oresaid upon the i r oath s a f oresaid do f u.rther present that James L. Ray, who was h e reto f or e on the 4th day

The grand Jurors in and for the body of said county of
Rockingham and now attending said Court at its October term, 1927,

prior t9 the fin().ing of (this indiq-tment, !n the _said county of Rockingham, did unlawfully manufacture, sell, offer, keep, store and
~xpose for sale, give away, transport , dispense, solicit, advertise
and receive orders for ardent spirits, against the peace and dignity
of the Commonwealth of Virginia.

present that James . Rossen, within one yeaJi: ,next :prior to the finding
of this indictment, in the said c aunty of Rooking}:tam, did unlawfully
have in his possession ardent spirits, against the peace and dignity
of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
