Description
Administrative, financial, historical, and instructional materials documenting the operations, professional development, and legislative tracking of the Virginia Court Clerks' Association (VCCA) from 1910 through the early 2020s.
The collection comprises administrative papers including the association's constitution, by-laws, committee lists, directories, and presidential speeches; extensive financial records such as membership dues ledgers, checkbooks, receipts, invoices, and treasurer’s reports; and educational and procedural guides detailing uniform clerk fees, local court practices, and equity procedures. It highlights continuous professional training via the proceedings of the Local Government Officials’ Conferences held at the University of Virginia. Additionally, the collection documents legislative tracking through various General Assembly bill summaries, summaries of the Acts of Assembly of interest to clerks, and government relations contracts. Commemorative files comprise resolutions of respect and memorials for deceased clerks, retirement proclamations, and materials from the association's 50th and 100th anniversary milestones.
